Durrës lives up to its reputation as the busiest beach in Europe.

Amanda hired a tour guide to drive the family to their first beach experience during high season. Durrës is a 30 min drive west from Tirana down the “road to Durrës” (real highway name). This port city, bordering the Adriatic Sea and directly across Bari, Italy, is the 2nd most populated city in the county behind the capital. It is home to the busiest beach in Europe and is rich in historical invasions and occupation from all neighboring borders. The entire current city is sitting on top of old worlds.
